Harbour Defence Motor Launch 1321 (HDML 1321) is known for her extraordinary service during WW2 behind enemy lines with Z Special Forces. During the 1950's HDML 1321 was used as a training ship and renamed Rushcutter. In 1971 she was sold to a private owner. HDML 1321 sank at her moorings in Darwin Harbour at 7.55am 19 October 2016 and efforts to save her for future generations is underway.

Progress Report 22 November 2016

Currently on shore HDML 1321 now needs to be relocated to a more permanent location for restoration work. The team is working overtime to this end.

A suitable location and transportation method must be secured. This will require the co-ordination of at least three separate organisations, their equipment and manpower. We hope to have some specific details very soon.

It is very heartening to have received offers of assistance from local groups for which we are most grateful.

We would like to say a special thank you to Landbridge (Darwin Port), and Bhagwan Marine for being so accommodating throughout the process of rescuing HDML 1321.

It is likely that a purpose specific hardstand shall have to be built for her and materials will need to be procured to this end.

Those who wish to help can do so by donating, becoming a sponsor or spreading the word about HDML 1321 by clicking the share buttons down below.
